Lighting Production Technician
808 Create Ltd. is a small, but fast growing TV, Film and Event crewing agency based in Shepperton Surrey providing studios and productions with qualified lighting crew.
Clients include Versa Studios, BBC Studioworks, ITV and the Royal Albert Hall. We work on some of the UK’s most well-known TV shows and events across the UK and are passionate about getting new people into a thriving and exciting industry.
808 Create is looking for a motivated and diligent Lighting Production Technician to join our team. In essence, the role is to work with our Production Director in delivering first class lighting and electrical services to our clients in both TV and Events.
The successful candidate will work at a variety of studios and locations pre-dominantly in or around London, but maybe asked to carry out roles across the UK on occasion.

ROLE OF THE JOB
Management of their own Lighting projects from initial quotes to delivering projects
This is a ‘role your sleeves up’ job and will suit someone with established experience in Lighting in the TV, Theatre or Event industry
The successful person will provide training to our pre-dominantly freelance crew and will help draft in new crew on to 808 Create jobs
The right candidate will be able to manage the planning of rigs, installs, where necessary operate as well as work on derigs
Manage shows or events following instruction from Director of Photography, Lighting Directors and Gaffers
Seek new opportunities for 808 Create to clients to provide lighting services and crew
Crew various jobs for 808 Create clients
SKILLS NEEDED
Proficient at networking systems and basic operating knowledge of key lighting desks
A full working knowledge of current electrical practices and preferably has a City and Guilds Level 2, or similar, 18th Edition IEE Regs Cert. A working knowledge of BS7909 Code of Practice for temporary electrical systems. An IPAF 3A and 3B. An apprenticeship or degree in technical theatre or Electrical apprenticeship
Experienced and knowledgeable about both generic lights, movers and LED and have ability to carry out physically demanding tasks both working at height and can use equipment
Well-organised, forward-thinking, solution-focused approach
People person – good at managing different personalities and pressures
Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office
Confident, hardworking and able to muck in at every level
Willing to come up with improved processes and workflows
Resilient, you keep your cool under pressure
DETAILS OF JOB
The salary will be depending on experience. c. £38-£45k per annum + overtime. 30 days leave per annum + pension. This role includes both working unsociable hours including overnights, weekends and bank holidays on occasion.
